How to get big hair

Big hair is all the rage. And, fortunately, it’s not that difficult to get big, voluminous hair. In fact, you can do it yourself right at home, just by using a few products or by following the method described below.

First, you will need to purchase a few products that will add volume to your hair. The first set of products that you will need is a good, volumizing shampoo and conditioner. Because getting big and crazy hair has been a fad for a few years now, the beauty product industry has been marketing a big variety of shampoos and conditioners that promise to give you big, thick hair. But, how do you know which product will work for you? Usually, you will have to experiment with a few brands until you find a few that will work for you. It is always good to have at least two different shampoos and conditioners on hand, so that you can switch off every few hair washings.

One of the best volumizing shampoos out there is Burt’s Bees Volumizing Shampoo, which comes in a pomegranate scent. Because Burt’s Bees is basically all-natural and doesn’t contain any sulfates or parabens, any type of hair will benefit from being washed with this type of shampoo. Massage and leave the shampoo in your hair for at least one minute, and then wash it out thoroughly. Use the accompanying conditioner and only condition the last half of the hair strands. Again, wash thoroughly.

Always allow your hair to dry naturally. Do not comb your hair once you get out of the shower, since this will effectively flatten it out. Instead, let it air dry and then comb it gently. Use gloves if you want to touch your hair. The more oils that you add to your hair, the more it will get weighed down and look flat and dull.

You can stop there, and you’ll have big hair. But, what about using other products, like hairspray or leave-in conditioner? A method that is very popular now is called “teasing.” It involves the use of a rattail comb and a lot of hairspray. To do this, you will need to take the section of hair that needs to look “big.” Hold it up vertically and parallel to your head. Then, use the hairspray and spray all over the back, near the roots. The more spray, the better. Take the rattail comb and use it to comb starting from two inches from the roots and towards the scalp. As you comb more and more, you will see the hair start to accumulate near the roots. Allow the hair to fall back naturally. It should look more voluminous, or, at the very least, “poofy.”

Even though teasing can cause a lot of hair damage, it is done regularly in the entertainment and fashion industries.

But, what is beauty without pain? If you want big hair, then teasing might be a good option for you once in a while. But, sticking to all-natural volumizing shampoos may be a better path to take.
